SOMERSET, Mass. (WPRI) -- The coal-fired power plant at Brayton Point in Somerset has been sold.
Private equity firm Energy Capital Partners bought the station as part of a package deal with two other plants nationwide.
In 2011, The power station topped the EPA's list of most toxic emission in Massachusetts.
Dominion purchased the plant eight years ago and invested $1 billion to make it more environmentally friendly.
The sale is still waiting for federal approval.
