ATTLEBORO, MASS. (WPRI) -- A man with a gun held up an Attleboro pharmacy Friday afternoon, prompting a search of the neighborhood.
Sgt. Arthur Brillon tells Eyewitness News that the man walked in to the Rite-Aid at 1099 Washington Street at about 2:30 Friday and displayed a gun. He demanded narcotics from the pharmacist before jumping over the counter and confronting several employees. He escaped out an emergency exit but was caught on security cameras inside the store.
The man is described as a white man, about six feet tall and between 180-200 pounds, possibly in his late 40s or early 50s. He had a dark moustache and goatee and was wearing a dark baseball-style hat with "US Border Patrol" on the front, a black leather jacket, blue jeans and boots.
Massachusetts State Troopers joined Attleboro police and detectives at the scene and used a K9 unit to attempt to track the man in the nearby area, but the suspect was able to escape.
Nobody was injured in the robbery, but anyone who can identify the suspect should call the Attleboro Police Department.
