PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - The Providence Council Committee on Ordinances has approved a report on nightclub safety.
It comes on the heels of a violent incident at Level II nightclub. Five people were stabbed in a fight there in April.
Following the incident, Council Majority Leader Seth Yurdin called for the Council to examine, review, and make recommendations regarding licensing policies and procedures and police enforcement.
The report will now be submitted to the full Council.
Yurdin said that a legislative package of ordinances and resolutions to implement the recommendations will be introduced in early 2013.
