PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- New surveillance has surfaced showing a man who matches the description of missing Brown University student Sunil Tripathi.
The image shows a tall, skinny man wearing a black cap, dark jack and jeans walking south on Brook Street -- not far from from Tripathi's home. The video was recorded at 1:33 a.m. on March 16, about 20 minutes after his last recorded computer activity.
Tripathi's family says several area businesses have been reviewing their surveillance videos for any signs of the 22 year old.
"We have been awed by the outpouring of support from the Providence community," Ravi Tripathi, Sunil's brother said. "From grocery store and coffee shop owners who are posting flyers to the waves of complete strangers who have volunteered to search the parks and canvass the streets, the community's willingness to pitch in to find Sunny has been really remarkable."
Family members say the Help Us Find Sunil Tripathi Facebook page has generated over 1.2 million unique views in its first week.
Tripathi is described at six feet tall and 130 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hat with a Philadelphia Eagles logo, thin black-rimmed glasses, a black ski jacket, and jeans.
Those with information on his whereabouts should contact Det. Mark Sacco at 401-641-8691.
Anyone in the Providence area who wishes to help in the search for Tripathi should email firstname.lastname@example.org .
