PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - Providence Police are investigating an early morning shooting in the area of Plainfield Street and Dewey Street.
It happened just after seven a.m. Police say the victim was waiting for the bus when the suspect walked up and demanded his wallet.
The victim, a 48-year old man, said he didn't have one and that's when police say the suspect fired one shot.
The victim was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg. The injury is not believed to be life-threatening.
Police are still looking for the suspect.
