PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- A human skeleton was found in Rhode Island's capital city, Providence police confirm.
The remains were found under concrete in the Providence Community Health Center on Prairie Avenue around 1:30 on Wednesday.
"There is some clothing, we're not sure how old the remains are. We do have some clues but that remains to be seen for a long time," said Major David Lapatin of the Providence Police.
According to police, they believe the remains are from a smaller person - possibly a woman or a smaller man. The bones are believed to be left from renovations that took place in the 1970s and 1980s.
Police are investigating the area, and the state medical examiner will remain on scene.
