(WPRI) -- The CVS Caremark Charity Classic is a proud sponsor of the American Heart Association, which helps both children and families receive resources and support.
Eyewitness News Anchor Danielle North met a fun-loving 11-year-old who will be playing in the 'All Kids Can Three Hole Challenge.' Keith though, was born with a congenital heart defect.
"Only half of my heart has grown, so I might get tired quickly," he said.
Born with a heart defect, Keith had the first of three heart surgeries we he was just hours old. After such a fragile start, he has grown into a healthy sixth grader, with his only real limitation being that he cannot participate in contact sports.
Through special programs with the American Heart Association, kids like Keith and their families receive valuable resources and support. The Heart for Hero's program is just one that benefits from the CVS Caremark Charity Classic.
The Rhode Island chapter of the American Heart Association has received over $10,000 from the CVS Caremark Charity Classic every year for the past decade.
