PRESTON, Conn. (WPRI) -- Just days after an amber alert in Connecticut ended in tragedy, new details have emerged about the family's violent past.
It has been discovered that Debra Denison -- who allegedly murdered her two grandsons and then committed suicide -- had a son who was convicted of murder back in 2008.
Allen pleaded guilty to felony murder in 2008 after robbing and stabbing a man on a boat in Mystic, Conn. He was sentenced to 32 years in prison in 2010, and Debra Denison was present at the courthouse on the morning of her son's sentencing.
Late Tuesday night, an amber alert calling for two missing boys and a silver alert calling for a 47-year-old woman ended when Connecticut Police found the missing persons' bodies in an apparent murder-suicide.
Denison has been accused of murdering her 2-year-old grandson Alton Perry and his six-month old brother Ashton .
Brenda Perry, the young boys' mother, has thanked supporters for their support during this devastating time.
"Thank you for your prayers," she posted on Facebook. "My boys are in an amazing place. We have a few great angels watching over us."
A candlelight vigil will be held for the victims on Friday.
