NEWTOWN, Conn. (WPRI) – Six months after the tragic school shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary, students were let out for summer vacation.
On December 14, 2012, a gunman walked into Sandy Hook and killed 20 children and six adults. Months later, questions over how long the same building will serve as the school still remain.
A town committee voted to tear down and replace the school earlier this year.
On Friday, Connecticut approved a $750,000 bond to begin design work on the new Sandy Hook Elementary.
