PROVIDENCE, R.I. (FOX Providence) - Mayor David Cicilline joined The Rhode Show to talk about swine flu precautions being taken locally. He discusses what the city is doing in response to the swine flu and how agencies are preparing.

Meanwhile, as more people are diagnosed with swine flu in North America, the two largest U.S. drugstore chains -- CVS Caremark and Walgreens -- are laying in more hand sanitizers, pharmaceuticals and other products -- preparing for a possible rush on the products.

CVS has ordered additional doses of the antiviral drug Tamiflu from Roche Holding AG for their stores in New York City, where eight students became ill at a high school in Queens.

CVS spokesman, Michael DeAngelis, said his chain's buyers met with their suppliers over the weekend to make sure they can meet surges in demand for sanitizer gel and wipes, as well as face masks.

So far, CVS has not seen any run on personal hygiene products.
