(WPRI/WNAC) - We all want to save on expenses, and if grocery bills are taking a big bite out of your budget, you'll want to hear what Call 12 for Action has discovered.
All this month, Susan Hogan has been saving you money in all sorts of ways. We've learned about fashion and pampering deals, Wednesday night she's going to feed us some fresh tips on saving money at the grocery store.
"What we do, which was really cool, we kind of enlisted the help of a professional shopper at one of the major chains and we said listen, 'We're all on a budget. We're trying to find the best way to save some money. Can you give us some inside secrets inside your grocery store? Where do you place things? How do you shop the unit pricings?'" said Susan.
In Wednesday nights' segment you'll also learn the key to shopping smart. According to the professional shopper Susan worked, shopping by unit price is the way to.
"In this segment it teaches you how to do that, so it's something that we should do. The other thing, have you ever heard of the dented can aisle? They're actually more than half price," continued Susan.
