(FOX Providence) - Going green doesn't mean you have to sacrifice luxury, especially when giving gifts!
Miriam Hamarneh from Lush joined The Rhode Show to talk about all things "green" this Christmas.
The first set of products shown on The Rhode Show have reusable or recycled wrapping.
-Color Me Christmas,
$29.95
Like any good gingerbread house, Color Me Christmas is full
of five decadent treats all huddled under one roof. Bonus: the box
is meant to be colored in, so it's a great way for children to
personalize the gift before giving it to a loved one. And since
it's filled with super fun bath goodies, it makes a great gift for
kids too!
-To Be Jolly, $16.95
To Be Jolly has a selection of bathing delights to keep you
jolly all the way through the cold, winter season. For some extra
fun (and a clever way to reuse your wrapping paper this year),
dress up the snowman tag in true paper-doll fashion by cutting up
and using the gift wrap pictures to dress him up and, of course,
keep him warm.
-Winter Wonderland, $99.95
At
LUSH, we offer a
range of hatbox gifts that don't require any wrapping paper as the
boxes themselves have beautiful prints. Not only does it save on
paper, but they can be used as storage after the goodies are gone.
Winter Wonderland, a white hatbox covered in red velvet snowflakes,
is one of our holiday best-sellers and filled with 14 pampering
hand and body treats.
-Merry Christmas, $59.95
Inside this beautifully wrapped gift, there's a selection of
skin treats, Bath Bombs and Bubble Bars to help them get ready for
festivities. Wrapped in handmade red and gold-printed paper that
was imagined by
LUSH designers
and printed in Nepal by a co-operative, it's tied with a paper
ribbon and looks as super natural as its contents.
The second set of products shown on The Rhode Show are gifts that have little to no packaging.
-Bath Bombs - These are a LUSH invention and when dropped in a warm bath, they dissolve by fizzing, releasing essential oils and making the bath really soft.
Solid Shampoo Bars - The shampoo bars are one of the most environmentally friendly products LUSH has to offer! Each bar is equal to three 8oz bottles of shampoo, making them extremely environmental, effective, economical and amazing for travel.
Solid Bubble Bars - The ultimate goal at LUSH is to convert liquid products that have preservatives AND packaging into a solid form that is equal to or even better than the original product's effectiveness. So, Helen Ambrosen, another LUSH co-founder and product creator, crafted the bubble bars to be unbottled and thus, unpreserved (due to the lack of water needed to produce the bars).
Massage Bars - Another LUSH innovation, these solid bars of moisturizing butters and gorgeous essential oils melt on warm skin instead of messing about with bottles. Plus, they're preservative-free for a conscience and body pleasing mode of relaxation.
Charity Pot - Although this product has packaging, this pot does a world of good. 100% of all proceeds from the sale of this hand and body lotion are donated to various charities close to the brands heart - environmental conservation, animal protection, and humanitarian causes.
