HOUSTON (AP) - Connecticut has a long list of great players, from Ray Allen and Richard Hamilton to Caron Butler and Emeka Okafor.
Win or lose in Monday night's NCAA championship game against Butler, Kemba Walker has secured his spot among UConn's all-time greats after one of the best single seasons in NCAA history.
BYU's Jimmer Fredette was voted the AP player of the year, but if college basketball had an MVP, Walker likely would have been the runaway winner.
With 23.7 points and 4.6 assists per game, the junior All-American has accounted for 45 percent of the Huskies' points this season while leading them to within a game of the program's third national title.
