This week on Executive Suite: Dr. Scott Guelich, CEO of Providence-based startup Care Thread, and Daniel Egan, president of the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Rhode Island.
Guelich, a doctor and former software developer, has co-founded Care Thread to provide doctors and hospitals with a secure system for exchanging electronic messages in an industry that's still reliant on pagers. He talks about the company, its experience in Betaspring and its unique approach to health messaging.
Egan, whose organization represents Rhode Island's private nonprofit institutions of higher education, discusses how the abrupt collapse of the Sawyer School reinforces his industry's concerns about for-profit institutions. He also discusses the rising cost of college and the colleges' negotiations with Providence Mayor Angel Taveras.
