PROVIDENCE, R.I. (FOX Providence) - This morning, our TV Maitre d' visits one of The Rhode Show's favorite spots, where France can be found in the heart of Providence.

Here in Rhode Island... as far as classicsi french bistros go, this is the cream of the crop. Opened in 1972, Pot au Feu is reputedly the oldest french bistro in America. In English, Pot au Feu translates to "Pot of Fire". Pot au Feu kicked off the Providence Restaurant Renaissance being the first to offer something other than “steak, spaghetti and chow mien”.

It's a cozy spot, that in an instant transplants you to an intimate french country side bistro, without having to deal with all the cumbersome luggage when traveling.
