BURRILLVILLE, R.I. (FOX Providence) - Our TV Maitre d' Joe Zito has discovered a comfortable northern Rhode Island tavern on a golf course, and it's open to the public. And as Joe Zito show us, a beautiful lake and pristine grounds set the perfect mood for some really good food at Crystal Lake Tavern .

Call it a Burrillville tavern right here, and it's what you could say is, "way above par". Rhode Islanders love a good tip, whether in golf or food, and Joe Zito has got one for you. Try the tavern at the Crystal Lake Golf Club in Burrillville.

Most public courses have restaurants that amount to glorified snack bars, but not at the Crystal Lake Tavern. This pristine 18-hole course on beautiful Crystal Lake, is home to the Crystal Lake Tavern. And you don't have to golf to eat there!

Tavern owner Kevin Bliss says, "During the season we'll be open 7 days a week, offseason we're open a little less, but we offer everything from sandwiches to steak dinners, to lobster. We have specials that run 7 days a week. You can have something different every time you come up. The Golf Club has four function rooms so alot of times you'll drive in and see the parking lot packed so people won't come in, but... the tavern seats 120 people... 90% of the time we have room for people to come in so definitely come in and give us a try."

This family-friendly tavern has a comfortable, casual rustic lodge feel. In their kitchen, executive chef Michael McKuster teams with Nathan LeDuc to put out food that is "way above par".
