ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - An Albuquerque woman claims she was kidnapped and beaten over an $80 debt.

It all started after the alleged victim arrived at an apartment complex north of San Mateo and Gibson boulevards in Southeast Albuquerque on Friday. She told police she saw 41-year-old Kari Pacheco outside. Pacheco followed her.

A short time later, a man came up to her and made her leave, then forced her into the truck of his car. Later, the victim claims the man told her to undress, then beat her up and cut off her right pinky with a pair of shears.

She also said her family had to wire her the $80, which they picked up at Walmart. After that, he left.

The victim claims Pacheco was behind the whole thing.

"Based on the serious nature of the allegations, I am going to follow the recommendation of the background investigation department," said the judge. "Absolutely no contact whatsoever with the alleged victim."

The judge ordered Pacheco be held on a $25,000 cash bond.
