One of my favorite parts of the holidays is decorating. Each year I love coming up with new ideas on how my home will look, and I love finding ways to incorporate homemade crafts.
I’m really into mid-century modern and this paper craft fits perfectly with my holiday theme this year. It’s also easy enough for younger kids to accomplish.

For a special touch, write the creator’s name and the date somewhere on the ornament for a special holiday memory.
Mod Holiday Paper Ornaments:
What you’ll need:
Cut paper into six 1 ½” strips. You’ll need two strips 12” long, two strips 10” long and two strips 8 ½” long.
Stack the paper together to create on flush end in this order: long-medium-short-short-medium-long.
Press down to hold into place and then staple the paper twice.
Take a ribbon and cut into chosen length, then use your hole punch and string ribbon through, tying to secure.
Maneuver the other end of your stacked paper so ends are flush and repeat stapling.
Hang on your tree or decorate around your home.
You can add another piece of ribbon on the bottom end or a tassel for a varied affect.

What you'll need:
Fold each paper square in half, diagonally, creating a triangle.
Cut three lines in the triangle, equal distance apart.
Unfold and turn the square to face you where one corner is at the top, like a diamond.
Roll the first two cuts (the innermost cuts) together to form a tube and secure with a staple.
Turn the diamond over and fold in the next two cuts and staple, there as well.
Repeat until all the cuts are joined together and stapled.
Repeat this process on your remaining squares of paper, until you have six squares completed.
Place three of the completed rolled pieces together and staple the ends. Repeat on the other three.
Staple the two pieces you’ve created together.
You’ll also need to staple each of the sides together to maintain the shape.
Attach yarn or ribbon to one of the points and hang.
