PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – The travel ban that was put in place on Friday night has been lifted, but many left the cars at home and took to the streets using more creative forms of transportation.
Anna King decided to cross-country ski down the streets of Providence.
“After I got done shoveling out my car this morning, I didn’t know there was a driving ban so I came out and have been having fun since,” said Anna.
Some decided to take a walk around the city and admire the beautiful sights.
“Providence looks beautiful this evening, glistening and really nice,” said resident Tim Burling.
“It’s really quiet and peaceful, and getting back to being the walkable city,” said resident Frank Mullin.
The walkable city was short lived on Saturday, with the driving ban now part of Rhode Island history.
