Emergency Shopping List

(WPRI) - See our shopping list so you can get ready for a hurricane or other emergency.

Water

  • At least one gallon daily per person for 5 to 7 days

Food

  • At least enough per person or 5 to 7 days
  • Non-perishable packaged or canned food/juices
  • Snack food
  • Manual can opener
  • Cooking utensils/fuel
  • Paper plates/plastic utensils/trash bags
  • Two coolers – one for food, one for ice

Personal Supplies

  • Moisture wipes, liquid hand sanitizer
  • Soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, deodorant
  • Toilet paper, hygiene items
  • Mosquito repellent, sunscreen
  • Prescription drugs and other necessary medications
  • Special items for babies and elderly

Emergency Supplies

  • Flashlight and batteries
  • Battery operated TV, radio or NOAA weather radio
  • Candles or citronella and matches (in waterproof container)
  • Water purification kit (tablets, chlorine or iodine)
  • Fire extinguisher
  • Generator and fuel
  • First aid kit

Pet Care

  • Supply of food and water
  • Medications
