****A WINTER STORM WATCH is in effect for all of RI and southeastern MA. This means that there is the potential for a major storm with significant snow accumulations and strong winds on Wednesday. *****
THIS AFTERNOON: Mostly sunny, then some increasing clouds late in the day. Staying dry through the day and the night. Highs around 36. Lighter winds... northwest at 5-10mph
TONIGHT: Becoming mostly cloudy, but still dry..lows around 25
WEDNESDAY: Significant snow storm likely!.... Snow will overspread Southern New England between 6-9am and turn continue through the afternoon and evening before tapering off after midnight. Heavy snow accumulations and strong winds are likely from this storm. Widespread snow accumulations of 8 to 12" of snow is expected with isolated higher totals. Some mixing with sleet or rain is possible along the coast . In addition, winds will gust at times over 40 mph, leading to blowing and drifting snow and reduced visibility. This will be a very heavy, wet snow and with high winds, power outages are possible. Travel will become very difficult by late morning and continue into the evening with snow covered roads and poor visibility. A shift in the track could still lead to some adjustments in the accumulation forecast (either higher or lower), so be sure to check back in through the day for updates!!
THURSDAY: Drier, but travel will still be difficult with snow-covered, icy conditions on untreated surfaces for the morning commute... becoming mostly sunny, and chilly...highs around 33.
FRIDAY: Sunny and dry with highs around 34.
SATURDAY: Sunny and dry with highs in the low to mid 30's.
SUNDAY: Sunny and dry with highsin the low 30's.
