(WPRI) - Last fall, The Target 12 Investigators brought you "Fighting Fraud," an undercover investigation that exposed waste inside the Department of Labor and Training.

The state's four "Fraud and Overpayment" investigators were caught running personal errands on taxpayer time.

Now, six months later, the state has taken action.

The Director of the Department of Labor and Training, Sandra Powell, said an internal investigation is complete.

"I would say that our investigation was a solid investigation," Director Powell said. "It was certainly added to by external information from both the bureau of audits, Channel 12's film was very important and then the additional work that the state police did."

Tonight, we reveal what has happened to those four workers. We also tell you how the fraud unit has changed since our investigation aired.

"Fighting Fraud" airs Monday night on Eyewitness News at 11:00 p.m. on WPRI 12.
