EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - The Target 12 Investigators are combing contracts for local teachers, digging deep to see how your tax dollars are being spent.
Eyewitness News has made it easy for you to see how teachers in your district compare to others when it comes to their contracts.
On our website www.wpri.com click on "Target 12." You'll see "breakdown of school contracts," that will launch our database. There you can find everything from salaries, to class sizes, to health care co-pays, anything that was negotiated at the bargaining table.
For example, teachers in most districts get some sort of sabbatical. That's where they get time off, often paid to further their skills or learning in their field.
In order to find that information in our database you will want to click on "Time Off." There you will find information on sick days, personal days, and sabbatical information.
If you want to read the full contracts click on "
school contracts
by district." Note the years covered by each contract.
