(WPRI) - Suddenly the storied history of mobsters in Rhode Island is back in the news.
A state police sweep puts, as of today, almost two dozen people
behind bars, some of those with mob connections.
And now a high-profile dig in East Providence is looking for
the body of Joseph "Joe Onions" Scanlon, who was shot and killed in
a mob hit back in 1978.
Watch this web exclusive to hear Target 12 Investigator Tim White answer Internet Reporter Courtney Caligiuri's questions about the case.
***In this interview Tim White recommends a book to those interested in reading about organized crime. The book is called "The Five Families" by New York Times Investigative Reporter Selwyn Raab.
