PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - The man the Feds say used to run the New England mob, is expected to admit to a federal racketeering charge Wednesday.
Luigi "Baby Shacks" Manocchio, the former boss of the Patriarca Crime Family, and accused Capo regime Eddie Lato are both set to plead guilty to charges of racketeering and conspiracy.
In the plea agreement, federal prosecutor, William Ferland wrote Manocchio will admit he “was an organizer of criminal activity in the case” and that the activity was “extensive.”
Three other mob suspects, Raymond "Scarface" Jenkins, Alfred "Chippy" Scivola, and Richard Bonifiglia are also expected to plead guilty Thursday.
The Target 12 investigators learned last week the suspects signed a plea deal with prosecutors.
All five defendants associated with the plea deal face up to twenty years in prison.
Specifically for Manocchio, if his sentence falls anywhere between 63 and 78 months, he will not be allowed to appeal.
