FOXBORO, Mass. (WPRI) - It looks as though the leading rusher for the New England Patriots will be out for a while. According to ESPN Boston , running back Fred Taylor needs surgery on his right ankle.

Taylor injured his ankle during his final play in Sunday's game against the Ravens and has missed practice the last two days.

This is Taylor's first season with the Patriots and he has made an impact on the team with 45 carries for 201 yards.

If all goes well, Taylor is not expected to be out for the season.
