Local star Bennett looks to NHL draft

NARRAGANSETT, R.I. (WPRI) - The Bennett family packed up their RV this week and headed north to Montreal to hear son Mac's name called in the NHL draft.

Since finishing his season at the Hotchkiss School, Bennett has spent time working out for scouts.

Now, he expects to have his name called on day two of the NHL draft.

But even after being drafted, Bennett is expected to head to Cedar Rapids next year to play junior hockey before heading off to play at the University of Michigan.
