UNDATED (WPRI) - North Kingstown high schooler Elizabeth Beisel once again showed why she's a world class swimmer on Saturday taking third place in the 200 meter backstroke final at the World Championships in Rome, Italy.
Beisel finished in a time of 2:06.29, which would have been the fastest time in the world last year. Instead, Beisel was just behind Kirsty Coventry of Zimbabwe who set a new world record with a time of 2:04.81.
Beisel now gets ready for the 400 individual medley on Sunday.
