JP Smollins

JP Smollins joined the Eyewitness News team in October of 2002 as a Sports Photographer/Sports Reporter.

Prior to his work at Eyewitness News, JP worked at WJAR-TV as an Assignment Editor and Sports Producer. He has also worked as a Sports Reporter/Anchor at WWNE in White River Junction, VT., an Assignment Editor and Producer at WLNE-TV in Providence, and was a freelance Sports Reporter/Anchor at Media-One (now Comcast).

Born in Worcester , JP attended Stonehill College for undergraduate studies where he majored in English and played football for the Chieftains. He then went on to Northeastern University where he earned a Masters in Journalism.
