BOSTON (AP) — The Boston Red Sox have suspended right-hander Alfredo Aceves for three games for conduct detrimental to the team.
General manager Ben Cherington made the announcement during Saturday night's game against the Kansas City Royals.
According to the Boston Herald, Aceves was seen storming out of manager Bobby Valentine's office after Friday night's game, when Andrew Bailey pitched the ninth inning for his first save of the season.
"Might have had something to do with that," Valentine said after Saturday night's game. "I'm a little disappointed. You just have to know the difference between right and wrong. That's all we ask."
