(WPRI) - With the series tied 1-1 going and three games at home this weekend, the P-Bruins never thought it was going to end like this -- four unanswered goals in the final period to fall to Hershey 6-4.
The P-Bruins were in good shape early. They took a 1-0 lead at the 1:56 mark of the opening period and then grabbed a 2-0 advantage at the 15:32 mark, while on the power play.
Providence went ahead 3-0 at the 3:01 mark of the second period, againon the power play, but then Hershey started their comeback and the P-Bruins only led 3-2 at the second intermission.
Then just 38 seconds into the third period, Providence retook a two goal advantage while on the power play, and then the wheels came off the wagon.
Hershey scored 4 consecutive goals in the final period, time after time beating Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask and taking a two-game lead in the best-of-seven series.
Until now, Providence has never trailed a series in these playoffs, but they must now fight their way back starting Sunday with Game 4 at the Dunkin' Donuts Center.
