Hartford dominates P-Bruins 7-0

(WPRI) - The Providence Bruins fell to the Hartford Wolf Pack 7-0 Saturday evening at the XL Center.

The Wolf Pack took a 1-0 advantage at the 2:39 mark of the opening period, while shorthanded. Dale Weise tallied the unassisted goal, his third goal of the season. Hartford went into the first intermission with the 1-0 lead.

Hartford made it 2-0 just 39 seconds into the second period, while on the power play. Bobby Sanguinetti netted his second goal of the season, with Corey Locke and Weise recording the assists. The Wolf Pack took a 3-0 advantage at the 7:05 mark. Jordan Owens scored his first goal of the season, while Tyler Arnason and Michael Sauer picked up the assists. Hartford led 3-0 after two periods.

Hartford went ahead 4-0 at the 4:30 mark of the third period, while on the power play. Weise tallied his fourth goal of the season and second goal of the game with Locke and Evgeny Grachev getting the assists. The Wolf Pack made it 5-0 at the 11:01 mark. Sanguinetti netted his second goal of the game and third goal of the season, while Ryan Garlock and Owens had the assists. Hartford netted their third power play goal of the game at the 13:16 mark to make it 6-0. Locke scored his seventh goal of the season, while Sanguinetti and Ilkka Heikkinen grabbed the assists. The Wolf Pack finished off the scoring at the 17:50 mark to make it 7-0. Heikkinen tallied his second goal of the game, while Grachev and Locke netted the assists. The P-Bruins fell by a 7-0 final.

Matt Dalton stopped 41 of 48 shots for the P-Bruins, while Chad Johnson made 17 saves for the Monarchs. The P-Bruins were 0-for-3 on the power play and 2-for-5 on the penalty kill.
