P-Bruins earn commanding 8-3 win

PROVIDENCE (WPRI) - The Providence Bruins defeated the Worcester Sharks 8-3 Friday at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. Mikki Lehtonen and Matt Marquardt led the way with two goals each in the route.

The scoring started just 1:12 into the opening period when Martins Karsums knocked home the first goal of the game to five the Bruins a 1-0 lead. They followed that with a goal just two-and-a-half minutes later when Matt Lashoff put one in the net on the power play.

Providence cruised to victory from there.

Goalie Tuukka Rask stopped 32 of 35 shots in the win.

The P-Bruins are back in action tonight in Portland and back home Sunday against Norfolk.
