P-Bruins have rough showing at Dunk

(WPRI) - The Providence Bruins fell to the Lowell Devils 4-1 Friday evening in front of 9,711 fans at the Dunkin' Donuts Center.

The Devils took a 1-0 advantage at the 4:52 mark of the opening period. Tim Sestito tallied his 13th goal of the season, while Louie Robitaille and Matthew Corrente picked up the assists. Lowell led 1-0 going into the first intermission.

Lowell made it 2-0 at the 14:57 mark of the second period. Sestito netted his 14th goal of the season, while Michael Swift and Nathan Perkovich recorded the assists. The Devils led 2-0 going into the second intermission.

The Devils extended their lead to 3-0 at the 43 second mark of the third period, while on the power play. Brad Snetsinger scored his fifth goal of the season, with Matt Taormina and Tyler Eckford grabbing the assists. Lowell made it 4-0 at the 8:33 mark. Alexander Vasyunov netted his 12th goal of the season, unassisted.

The P-Bruins got on the board at the 18:522 mark. Andrew Bodnarchuk had the puck at the right point and left it along the boards for Brad Marchand. He shot the puck towards the net where it was tipped in by Jeff LoVecchio for his 11th goal of the season. The Devils went onto the 4-1 victory.

Dany Sabourin stopped 22 of 26 shots for the P-Bruins, while Jeff Frazee made 38 saves for the Devils. The P-Bruins were 0-for-5 on the power play and 5-for-6 on the penalty kill.

The P-Bruins wrap up the week at The Dunk Sunday at 4:05 p.m.
