(WPRI) - The PawSox must have been tired from their 14 inning affair Monday and suffered their ninth shutout of the season on Tuesday night, falling to Syracuse 12-0 at McCoy.
Marco Estrada pitched a nearly perfect seven innings. Estrada (5-2) allowed just one hit, a single by Gil Velazquez in his outing. Estarda also fanned 7 PawSox hitters. Pawtucket managed just 3 hits.
Freddy Guzman and Jeff Natale had the others. Enrique Gonzalez labored through five innings. Gonzalez (7-7) gave up 8 runs on 12 hits. The loss drops Pawtucket (41-36) back into third place in the North Division.
The PawSox have Wednesday off and begin a 2 game series with first place Scranton on Thursday at 6:15 p.m. Clay Buchholz (5-1, 1.90) will be on the mound for Pawtucket.
