PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) - For the second straight night, the PawSox came from behind and for the second straight night, the PawSox defeated Scranton Wilkes Barre. On Thursday night, Pawtucket edged the Yankees 3-2. Down 2-0 after an inning and a half, the PawSox scored a run in the fifth and two more in the seventh to ice the game. Right fielder Bryce Brentz had the two Pawtucket RBI. Brentz and J.C. Linares had 2 hits each.

Chris Hernandez worked 6 solid innings, but wasn't involved in the decision. Scott Atchison, on an ML rehab (forearm) picked up the win with an inning and a third of relief. Jose De La Torre earned his second save in as many nights. Will Inman, just off the disabled list, was credited with the hold.

The series shifts to Rochester for game three, and four and five if necessary. If Pawtucket manages a win on Friday in Rochester, New York, it would be the first playoff series sweep for the PawSox in franchise history. Billy Buckner faces Mike O'Connor. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
