Louisville swept the series over the PawSox with a 6-3 win Monday night at McCoy Stadium. This was the first 4-game sweep at home since 2005.
Ryan Lavarnway's RBI single scored Pedro Ciriaco who led off with a double (11) and gave the PawSox the lead 1-0. Lavarnway has 18 RBI's and hit .415 for the month of June. Jon Hee led off the third with a double (5) and scored on Ciriaco's triple (2). An RBI sac fly by Jason Repko scored Ciriaco and gave the PawSox the lead, 3-1.
Louisville scored two runs in the fourth to tie the game at 3-3, a homerun in the sixth by Felix Perez, and two runs in the ninth, to take the lead, 6-3.
Justin Germano (8-4) took the loss. He pitched seven innings, gave up eight hits and four runs. Chad Reineke (3-5) got the win for the Bats. He went six innings and two batters, gave up five hits and three runs.
Ciriaco and Lavarnway had two hits each for the PawSox. Perez and Rojas led the Bats with three hits each. The PawSox fall to 45-33 as they begin a 4-game series against the Charlotte Knights at McCoy Stadium starting tomorrow night at 7:05 pm. Billy Buckner (1-1, 7.71) faces Matt Zaleski (2-2, 5.02).
