The PawSox (49-41) failed to notch their 50th win of the season for the second night in a row, falling 3-1 Friday evening in Rochester.

After Billy Bucker (1-3) worked out of runners on the corners in the fourth and fifth innings, the Red Wings jumped on the board in the sixth thanks to Danny Valencia's single to left field, scoring Pedro Florimon.

The 'Wings took their lead to the seventh where, with Garrett Mock pitching, Clete Thomas belted his team-leading eighth home run of the season to right field to give Rochester a 2-0 advantage. For Mock, it's the third time in his last four appearances he has allowed at least one run.

With one out in the top of the eighth inning, Che-Hsuan Lin reached on this third single of the night and later scored on Alex Hassan's fielder's choice to pull Pawtucket within a run, 2-1.

After Mock struck out the first two batters looking in the bottom of the eighth, Danny Valencia launched a solo homer to left field, padding the Rochester's lead, 3-1.

In the top of the ninth with one out, Nate Spears drew his second walk of the night and then, with two outs, moved to second base as a result of a Jose Iglesias' walk. With the tying run at first base and two outs, Luis Perdomo came out of the bullpen and struck out Lin looking on a pitch painting the outside corner.

Pawtucket dropped two-of-three in Rochester and returns home where they open a brief two-game series Saturday night before the All-Star break. First pitch Saturday night between the PawSox and Syracuse Chiefs is scheduled for 6:05 from McCoy Stadium. Right-hander Zach Stewart (1-0, 1.54) starts for the PawSox and will be opposed by Chiefs' righty Tanner Roark (4-10, 5.27).
