Moss takes down PawSox in extras

(WPRI) - Former PawSox MVP Brandon Moss drove in all three Lehigh Valley runs on Friday night in Allentown, leading the Iron Pigs to a 3-2, ten inning win.

Moss hit his second home run of the series in the second inning off starter Tony Pena. Moss, 3-5 in the game and 5-8 in the series came up with the bases loaded in the bottom of the tenth and slappd a single into center field, driving home the game winner. Lehigh Valley leads the best of 5 playoff series 2 games to none.

Pawtucket got on the board first, on an RBI double by Lars Anderson in the first inning. The PawSox tied it at 2-2 in the eighth as Daniel Nava belted a ground rule double that eventually forced extra innings.

Pena, Hideki Okajima, Junichi Tazawa and Randy Williams all pitched well for the PawSox. Williams (1-2) took the loss.

The series will continue at McCoy on Saturday night at 6:05 p.m. Brian Bass (8-10, 3.81) faces Alex Wilson (!-0, 3.43).
