Buffalo rolls past PawSox 8-2

Buffalo took game two 8-2 Friday night at McCoy Stadium. In Carl Crawford's second rehab start with the PawSox, he went 0-4 with a walk, stolen base, and an RBI. He is scheduled to play another 9 innings tomorrow night.

Buffalo took the lead 2-0 in the fifth inning after a 2-run homerun by Fred Lewis. Rob Johnson walked to put a runner on base. The Bisons extended their lead to 6-0 after six innings. Josh Satin hit a homerun that scored Matt den Dekker who walked; Valentino Pascucci followed with a walk and scored on a homerun to left by Matt Tuiasosopo. That was three 2-run homeruns for Buffalo.

Scott Podsednik led off with a single, advanced to second on a ground ball by Mike Rivera, and moved to third on a single by Nate Spears. Ryan Kalish struck out to end the threat and the PawSox trailed Buffalo 6-0 after seven.

Buffalo added another run in the eighth and made the score 7-0. Satin scored on a ground ball to the second baseman.

Lars Anderson hit his second double of the night in the eighth and scored on an RBI single by J.C. Linares. PawSox trailed the Bisons 7-1 after eight innings, but Fred Lewis' second homerun of the game made the score 8-1 after nine. In the ninth for the PawSox, Rivera scored on a ground ball fielder's choice by Crawford, and made the score 8-2. Rivera led off with a walk.

Billy Buckner took the loss for the PawSox. He gave up six runs, five hits and struck out five in six innings. Jeurys Familia got the win for Buffalo. He went six innings plus two batters, gave up five hits and struck out six.

Anderson and Spears led the PawSox with two hits each. For the Bisons, Lewis and Satin each had two hits. The series with Buffalo continues tomorrow (Saturday) at 6:05 pm at McCoy Stadium. Zach Stewart (1-0, 1.96) faces Chris Schwinden (4-7, 3.44).
