FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has undergone surgery on his broken left arm, a person with knowledge of the operation tells The Associated Press.

Gronkowski suffered the season-ending injury Sunday when he caught a pass from Tom Brady in the first quarter and landed out of bounds on the arm for an incompletion in New England's 41-28 playoff win over the Houston Texans.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the team has not announced the surgery.

Gronkowski had earlier surgery after breaking his left forearm on Nov. 18 in a 59-24 win over the Indianapolis Colts. He missed five games and returned for the season finale, a 28-0 victory over the Miami Dolphins.

The Patriots (13-4) host the Baltimore Ravens (12-6) in the AFC championship game Sunday.
