FOXBORO, Mass. (WPRI) - Even though Super Bowl 46 is taking place more than 900 miles from Gillette Stadium, police in the Patriots hometown are not taking any chances.
The Attleboro Sun-Chronicle reports that Foxboro Police are adding patrols Super Bowl Sunday just in case rowdy fans decide to cause trouble after the game.
According to the report, police were caught off guard when celebrations turned into fighting following the Patriots 2004 Super Bowl victory. They boosted patrols for the 2008 Super Bowl between the Patriots and Giants, but did not need them following the Patriots' stunning loss.
