FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) - Fans began to line-up in their cars at 8:30 a.m. Sunday outside Gillette Stadium in Foxborough as the New England Patriots prepared to take on the Baltimore Ravens.
Stadium and parking lot workers were up a lot earlier than that. One that Eyewitness News spoke to was there a 5 a.m. to unlock the gates, a job that became difficult when the locks were frozen with temperatures just above zero.
"When I came in this morning it was about five degrees," parking lot attendant Josh Everle said. "It's rough, but I'll be out here all day and all night."
Business around the stadium have also been getting ready for days. The Dunkin' Donuts near Gillette is making extra donuts, and the Renaissance Hotel at Patriot Place is chalk full of guests ready for the big game.
"It's an incredible amount of work that has to be done to prepare for something like this," Frederick Torres, who works at the hotel, said.
The game kicks off at 1 p.m. and can be seen on WPRI-12.
