PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - The Big East is relocating its Providence headquarters.

On Monday, Conference officials announced they're moving from the Jewelry District, downtown, into the old American Express building.

They're leaving their current office on Richmond St., because Brown University is transforming the building into one of its key locations for an expanded medical teaching and research area.

The Big East has been headquartered in Providence for 30 years and is the largest Division I-A conference in the country.
