FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (WPRI) - Geoff Cameron is a two-time MLS all-star who helped lead the Houston Dynamo to the MLS Cup Final last season. But his roots trace all the way back to his days at Providence Country Day School and the University of Rhode Island.

"It's been a crazy road," Cameron told Eyewitness Sports during a recent visit of the Dynamo to Gillette Stadium.  "Who would have thought five years ago, I would be an all-star. I've just been given a lot of opportunities, and I'm trying to take advantage of it."

This season has been a change for Cameron. He played midfielder for his first four seasons as a pro, but now the 26-year-old is working as a central defender.

Cameron has also been tapped to play some games with the U.S. National Team.

"It was fantastic," Cameron said of his National Team experience. "There's five games ahead of us, and hopefully I'll get the opportunity to get in there are show what I can do."
