Dennis and Brian McGovern

(WPRI) - This week's Cardi's Hometown Sports Heroes are Dennis McGovern Sr. and his son Brian McGovern.  This year, they will become the first ever a father/son duo to be entered in to the New England Basketball Hall of Fame.

If the last name rings a bell, there's a reason why. Dennis McGovern Sr. is a URI Basketball Hall of Famer and a former New York Knick, His son Brian still holds the record for most points scored in a high school basketball career at Coventry High School.
