Cardi's Hometown Sports Hero

(WPRI) - This week's Cardi's Hometown Sports Hero is Michael Washington. The Central senior is a reigning first Team All-State football player who rushed for over 1,400 yards and 20 TD’s as a junior.

This year the speedster already has over 900 rushing yards and 17 TD’s in four games for the undefeated Knights. Michael’s success last season earned him the opportunity to attend the prestigious Nike camps at Penn State and Rutgers.

Washington plans to attend prep school next year to continue his development on and off the field, helping him achieve his ultimate goal of earning a college football scholarship.
