(WPRI) - This week's Cardi's Hometown Sports Hero is Garrett Denton. The Chariho sophomore to-be became the youngest ever winner on NASCAR’s Whelen All-American Series when he took home the top spot in a Mini-Stock feature as a 14-year old at the Waterford Speed Bowl.

Born into a racing family, Garrett’s also using his success to help others, raising money for the Make-A-Wish foundation by selling stars on his 99 car.
