BARRINGTON, R.I. (WPRI) - The Charity Classic is entering its eleventh year at scenic Rhode Island Country Club on Narragansett Bay.Thanks to the support of thousands of volunteers, sponsors, golfers, and fans, this prestigious tournament had brought world class professional golf to Rhode Island.
Video 1: CVS/Caremark Charity Classic Time Lapse
There are literally hundreds of volunteers and staffers who make the CVS Caremark Charity Classic possible and run smoothly.
It's a year round job for some. Over the past few weeks the course has been transformed into a stadium. Construction began at the end of May.
They build more than 40 individual structures for sponsors, operations and volunteers. It takes about five weeks to build it all up and less than one week to tear down!

Video 3: CVS/Caremark Charity Class: "Youth in Action"
While the golfers are perfecting their shot, here at the CVS/Caremark Charity Classic, they're giving young people a shot of their own. A shot to make a difference and a better life for themselves.
At "Youth in Action", on Broad Street in Providence teens are learning about leadership, finding a voice and affecting change.The teens actually sit on the board of directors with adults, making decisions and seeing first hand what it takes to take charge.
Adeola Oredola is the Executive Director of Youth in Action. She's seen how this program can transform young adults into confident leaders, and she's grateful for the vision of CVS/Caremark in making that happen.

Video 4: CVS/Caremark Charity Classic: Aspiring golfers at Buttonhole
There's been a growing interest in women's golf on the
professional and amateur levels.
The latest stats show women's golf is one of the fastest
growing female college sports and even young girls are showing an
interest.
Karen Adams met some aspiring golfers at Buttonhole in Providence. They’re happy to be learning the game and are glad there are more women playing in the CVS Caremark Charity Classic this year.

Video 5: CVS/Caremark Charity Classic: Highlander Charter School
"Serve Rhode Island” is one of the working charities involved in the CVS Caremark Charity Classic.
The group is all about providing service. It oversees the “Americorp” volunteers who head up the after school program at the Highlander Charter School in Providence.
Mike Montecalvo found out how the program is making a difference in the lives of some local children.

Video 6: CVS/Caremark Charity Classic: Boys' and Girls' Club
The Boys and Girls Club is one of the CVS Caremark Charity Classic’s 'working charities. In fact, that organization takes care of the trash making sure the course is clean.
The payback is CVS - Caremark covers programs that wouldn't exist without the 'classic'. Walt Buteau profiles of a local teen who is an amazing example of how powerful the Boys and Girls club can be for a kid.
