KINGSTON, R.I. (WPRI) - The Rhode Island Rams were left home Sunday by the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee, but they will begin play in the NIT Tournament Wednesday against Northwestern at the Ryan Center.

The Rams got eliminated in the semi-finals of the Atlantic 10 Tournament Saturday sealing their fate.  URI just had too many losses down the stretch to convince the selection committee to put them in the Big Dance.

Now Rhode Island must settle for a #2 seed in the NIT Tournament.

The winner of URI and Northwestern will play either Wichita or Nevada.  The #1 seed in the Rams' side of the bracket is Virginia Tech.

Tickets are available online and at the Ryan Center box office.
